Real estate is good, but historically the stock market has done better.
Besides, real estate is also a gamble -- you are gambling that property
values will rise at a rate at least as great as inflation.
I am taking a gamble with my property. I am betting that property values
where I live will rise faster than inflation, and further that the rise in
value will be greater than the considerable chunk of change I have spent
improving my property, as the sale value of the house itself is basically
zero.
