just a question about the ideograms
Dear all,
I begun studying Chinese a few months ago and I like it very much.
As it is normal I found the study of the ideograms quite difficult, but
facing this difficulty is interesting and challenging.
In my Chinese language book, which is quite outdated, I red that the
Government of Beijing is trying to implement a phonetical way to write
Chinese, more or less as it was done with Japanese and Korean. As far as I
could understand since here, it seems impossible to me to do that with
Chinese, and it wouldn't be a good idea, since it would mean a great loss,
in my opinion.
However, I wouldn't like to be the last one to study the ideograms: it would
be quite frustrating to face such a big effort for me, if the ideograms were
to disappear... so, I'd really appreciate if you could tell me if you have
ever heard about this project, and whether it is (still) planned.
Thanks a lot.
