Of course that's a totally different situation -- here the parents are being
deported, not the children.
While on the subject of draconian immigration policies, however:
I recall a few years ago, California passed a law that said children who
were US citizens could not receive free medical care, if their parents were
illegal aliens. No idea if that one stood up in the courts.
One story I liked was when the mayor of a small Californian town was picked
up in an immigration raid, because he didn't have his wallet with him. He
had to get his son to come down with his proof of citizenship to get out.
