I'm assuming that you don't want to go down the 'financially challenged'
route for any of the above software - since you ignored my previous offer of
help.  Omnipage always seems to be available as a time-limited demo - I
don't have a url since I usually get the program off my pc magazine cover
dvd.

When I want to scan something from a newspaper I usually scan it as
text/line art first in Photoshop.  Touch it up a tad and then OCR it.
Painting over those pesky lines might be a less time consuming route to
follow than typing those numbers in by hand.
