I actually get this once in a while, often sounding very "canned"
(tinned?) -- like the shift manager had them maru-anki it before the shift
started.

I have gotten a couple of those pitches. I just tell them that I have an 8
Mbit connection with my current provider, and am lucky to get 900 Kbits, so
unless they are willing to come build a connection point nearer my house,
thanks but no thanks. That gets them off the phone in a hurry.
