I use 'ffdshow' - and it 'seems' to let me watch certain XviD avi files. I
say 'seems' because it's easy to lose track of what IS or ISN'T installed
codec-wise (yes I know where they're located - it's more a terminology
thing). Plus I usually plump for an mpeg d/load over an avi file. File
size is never an issue - and mpegs just play - easily, every time.
