Hi, there are a number of companies that use expressions like "weekly
manshon" to advertise their services (you pronounce the "a" in Japanese
sort of like "u" in "hut"). Many of them offer apartments for rent by
the month (then called "mansuly manshon" - you gotta love the Japanese
language).

I don't know about Tokyo, but in Okinawa - in many ways a different
country - those apartments don't involve key money any more than hotel
rooms, the point being that they are available for reasonably short
stays, quite like hotel rooms. So maybe with these kinds of apartments
the thinking in Tokyo is the same...

About sound insulation: you would have to talk to the rental companies
before you make a contract - they think conservatively, in order to
avoid trouble, so I imagine if they say it is OK it should really be OK.
