The original owner of it was on the news last night (or at least, the lower half of him was in order to protect his identity.)  It would cost him WAY too much money to retrieve it and I think is said he was going to let it drift.  He did hope that someone could make use of it but after a year at sea with no maintenance, it is (as can be seen from the photo) a bit rusted over.
