The problem is that our currency has always been pegged to the dollar. If we convert to the Euro next year, there is a very good chance that we will be converting at a near historic low of the Euro vs. the dollar, which will damage all of us that have our wealth denominated in guilders. If we do do that, I will certainly switch my holdings to dollars to protect them from a disadvantageous exchange, as will most business owners and ex-pats. The island is smart enough to see that as being a bad thing. The question is whether the Dutch will see fit to do something to prevent it. KWW
