Geographically, Aruba is in South America. Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao
are on the northern edge of the South American plate. 50 years ago, we
were on the southern edge of the Caribbean plate. Geologists have
written really boring dissertations on plate accretion, and many of them
appreciated the chance to study the topic here.
