I can't find your specific model listed at Toshiba.com. I'll assume you're
running XP as your operating system:

Look first in your system events log:

START> PROGRAMS> ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS> EVENT VIEWER

Click on SYSTEM in the left window once the view opens up. Scroll for any
yellow caution signs or red stop signs.

Double-click on the errors and you get a small pop-up with meaningless
information, but there is a link in that meaningless text. Click it, and
you should get some more intelligent information from the MS Help site.

Note that you may have many different types errors, not just many lines
with the same error repeated. You'll need to look through enough to
determine where things started going wrong. The first error could lead to
two new ones, each of which leads to five more, and so on.

If you can't resolve it yourself, find the original error and let us know
what it says. Also, look at even messages that were logged just before the
first error and let us know what's there. It could be something as simple
as using two open I-Explorer windows causing a memory problem (though you
don't know it has done so), which leads to a series of follow-up errors.

To assist, we'll need to know what went on between your boot-up and your
crash, at least to the point where errors started popping up in the event
log.

You might also wish to look in the APPLICATION event log, too (click on
APPLICATION in the left window of the event log window). See if some
program you are running is causing (or having) fits.
