Oh, I forgot...

If you travel at all with the laptop (or expect to), give second thoughts
to removing ConfigFree. Try it, you'll like it!

Seriously, when you travel, you'll be fiddling with your network settings.
Some hotels (or businesses you visit) won't have wireless, and you'll need
to use a cable. Other places will have wireless, but the settings will be
different than what you use at home or your regular workplace.

ConfigFree saves a LOT of hassle! The idea is, get your system working at
its usual place, then open ConfigFree Profiles and save the settings. Give
it a name.

Now, when you travel someplace, you're likely to have to change settings.
If you expect to travel to the same place more than once, you can adjust
your settings so they work, then store that as yet another profile (with
security settings such as No Sharing of printers, directories, etc.).

When you return home (or you office), open ConfigFree Profiles and select
your primary/default profile. You're done; all you previous settings are
put back after your travel changes.

When you travel again to the same place, just select the travel profile
and eveything is set up to work immediately.

Even if you don't travel to the same place a 2nd time, using the
primary/default profile feature will always save you a lot of hassle when
you return home.

You can also relocate the icons to an out-of-the-way place on your desktop
(I use bottom right corner) and adjust how transparent they are. I found
them annoying myself, as you apparently do, but after 3 trips I discovered
I didn't mind them one bit!
