I am disgusted by the posts here.

Firstly to argue clearly you must each state your points and clearly
define which points are not agreed upon. The point of an argument is
to arrive upon a resolution: ie. the truth. Trying to force your
opinions onto others does nothing but widen the gap in understanding
that already exists.

For the truth to be discovered one does not get swept in the feelings
of nationalist rivalries and racism, but instead attempts to
understand the history of the period. Opinions here appear to be based
on half-truths with little attempt to view the discussion objectively.
Here, objectively means to put asside your own personal subjective
perceptions and attitudes, and attempt to apply logic and reason to
the problem.

Name calling and put downs do not bring about a resolution where by
all parties agree. An argument is not supposed to be a mindless rant.

I am interested in discussing the topic of the "Rape of Nanjing". Does
anyone have any valid points to make? Removing nationalist and racist
slander from your post would be ideal. Thankyou
