If you wanted a "walk to fridge, drive everywhere" society, thats
pretty much where I am in Toyotaville. Most buses stop around 7-8, so
everyone drives to work, shop etc. Most job and shopping adverts
mention parking. Even so the local population doesn't seem to be any
larger around the waist than what I see in Tokyo or Osaka etc. The kids
seem to be a little more on the chubby side than adults, but no more so
than elsewhere in Japan.
