For a Sepponia citizen a 保証人 (hoshounin) is not required. It is
just a matter of accurate documentation. It is different to any of the
work visa categories, in that it is usually the applicant, not the
organisation, that applies for the Certificate of Eligibility. This
changes from time to time, so once you have saved up enough funds to be
able to provide documented proof that you can cover all expenses
incurred during the 6 months in Japan, contact the embassy or nearest
consulate to confirm procedures.
