New Casio Exilim EX-Z1000 digital camera
New Casio Exilim EX-Z1000 sold all over town...
Does anybody already own this model?
I am looking about about a review that compares the Casio Exilim EX-Z850 and
the new EX-Z1000.
The following excerpt is from a professional photographer who wrote a number
of good reviews: http://www.kenrockwell.com/casio/ex-z1000.htm
He made some assumptions about the EX-Z1000 since he wasn't able to test it
yet, but he has written very comprehensive reviews about Casio's models
before. Would you agree what he said about the new model? In this case I'd
just get the EX-Z850 and save some bucks for a larger memory card.
Another question:
The camera has a slot for the standard SD card. Someone told be to get the
miniSD card. Does the camera accommodate both cards, or would I need an
additional adapter? Finally, I noticed that there are cards with various
write speeds and big price gaps between them. Does the standard SD card
yield lesser quality when it comes to producing video clips? I can get
standard 2GB SC cards at pretty reasonable prices.
Casio announced this on April 26th, 2006. It's a tiny 10 MP pocket camera
with a giant screen.
Casio never stops. I just bought my new EX-Z850 a couple of weeks ago.
Some folks think this replaces the EX-Z850. I doubt it: the EX-Z1000 is
missing the mode selection dial and the EX and Drive Mode direct-entry
buttons. These buttons and dials of the EX-Z750 and EX-Z850 are critical to
making the fast ISO / Qual / WB / etc. adjustments I demand.
I'm unsure if the EX-Z1000 simply requires us to work through menus as the
EX-S600 does, or if the EX-Z1000 is going to do something very clever with
the onscreen menus to replace the loss of these direct-entry dials and
buttons.
