The 39th 'What's happening In Tokyo' podcast
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It's May 19th and this is the second in a series of podcasts featuring
some of the artists that performed during the Kichijoji Music festival.
The spotlighted artist is a group called 'Suiren'. Suiren means 'water
lotus'. The lead guitar player, and lead male vocalist is Hirotsugu
Mochida. The female vocalist is 'Kappa Sight'.
Also during today's show, I'll take you to a Kichijoji diner that
serves great hamburgers, world beer, and Hawaiian Coffee.
Towards the end of the show, the first tune from Suiren's demo CD was
'Attention Please', and the second tune was 'Umi wo Mi ni Yukou'. Both
of these tunes are now available on the Podsafe Music Network
The intro tune was 'Suki Suki Kichijoji' by the 'Sound Checkers'. The
outro tune was, 'Singers of Soul', by the 'Kichijoji Young All Stars'
which is made up many of the great local musicians. Among them are
Hirotsugu Mochida, Momoko - a great R&B and jazz singer, and last but
not least, Kyoko Okada from the Plastic Soul Band.
