Not sure about squash but there are tennis clubs (as well as the usual
range of sports clubs etc), but if you are new in town drop into Tagh's

after 8pm and ask at the counter (buy a pint first). At the moment at
least it is one of the best places to pick up information. Kyoto people
can be a bit reserved, so it may be worth getting involved with
students (depending on your age etc). One of the advantages of Kyoto is
the large number of Japanese university students who are also from out
of town.
