Cities like the ones you have been in, of course.

Like I said, I don't know how to actually go about arranging it,
because I'm not the type of person who could ever ask for money for
"teaching" English to Japanese while chatting about Japan or one's own
country in Starbucks, but it seems that the people I knew who did such
things either:

1. Were solicited by friends of acquaintences or approached by
strangers out of the blue who were intrigued by foreign looking people
2. Made themselves available by advertising on some public bulletin
board or registering with one of those online conversation matchmaking
services
3. Let acquaintences know they were available for "lessons"

and simply had to be patient, as it could take months to make a job out
of it, unless you are particularly interesting or physically attractive
and can attract upscale clients like middle aged doctors or
businesspeople, which seemed to be quite easy for slim blonde
Australians. The ladies I knew could pretty much ask for anything they
wanted, and one lady, a former magazine model, used to get 20,000 yen
for 40 minutes at Starbucks, without asking for it. She also had her
choice of flashy Japanese boyfriends who shelled out for her, and still
had the gall to joke about penis size. Too bad you are a guy, as you
will probably have more difficulty finding people to live off of.

You will definitely need a cell phone.
