No, I live in Hawaii. And unlike on Maui or Oahu, I think it was,
prices are still not going down. More importantly, prices will never be
what they used to be as recently as four or five years ago, because
that would involve prices being cut by at least half, as average home
prices have been going up 20-40% or more, annually. That does not
happen here. What happens is despite real estate being out of reach of
most local residents' hands, more affluent people from the mainland,
particularly California, come to buy up real estate, keeping prices
high, if not on the rise, in every region, even in the ethnically
isolated or economically disadvantaged areas.
