Sounds like you've picked up the Japanese distaste for all things
Nagoya. I found it to be a city, nothing more, nothing less. Most major
Japanese cities have more or less the same things, the same
attractions, the same fashions, etc. There might be some regional
differences, but not much. The biggest difference is that to get from
the center of Tokyo to its edge seems like it takes forever, which
isn't the case in Nagoya or Osaka.

I spent all of three weeks in Funabashi and while there was a very
good, 20-year-old reason for me to love being there, I hated that it
took an hour or so by train to get to downtown Tokyo, and it was city
the whole way.
