All depends on the diameter of the pellet. I wouldn't want to be
showered by say, 000 buck or #4 buck. Birdshot pellets at 400m/s or
similar velocity could kill too - depends on the impact point.

Similar to when I was learning how to ride motorcycles. The instructor
says "thou shall wear a helmet with full visor". The students reply
"too fucking hot you old coot" and ignored him. The instructor produced
photos of a motorcyclist who was riding at about 80km/hr when an insect
flew into his eye. All of us bought helmets with full visors. I
practically sprinted to the shop.
