How many neuroscientists do you know?

A lawyer, an economist and a neuroscientist were at the airport waiting
for their flight when they found the right room for an argument. "Sex
with your wife is best" said the risk averse lawyer. "Slip into the
wrong map of Tassie and you can lose your house in the divorce
proceedings". "Sex with your mistress is best" says the marginal
utility maximising economist. "It doesn't matter who you root on the
indifference curve, there are simply tradeoffs and your house is
potentially one of those". The neuroscientist listened to this tripe
for a while before pointing out the bleeding obvious. "I am a
neuroscientist, so I'm only interested in the brain. It is clear that a
man needs both a wife and a mistress. When he is away from the
mistress, the mistress will think he is with his wife. When he is away
from his wife, the wife will think he is with his mistress. In the
meantime, he is undisturbed in the lab".
