Hullo there. Now, this's been a very peculiar problem. My machine is p4
(1.8 GHz), Intel 845 chipset on HIS motherboard, 512 MB RAM. I guess
the specifications are enough. Now, I've been using this PC for the
past 18 months. Previously I had win98 in my C and xp in D. However, I
felt that 98's sitting pretty in my disk uselessly. So, I formatted and
repartitioned my hard disk and installed just one OS, XP, in my PC.
Then, i even installed the required set of drivers from te CDs I've
got.

Now, the problem is, how much so ever I try to install my graphics
driver, it simply isn't able to run the controller. While checking the
device manager, it says "This device cannot start. (Code 10)". I'm
absolutely clueless what this 'code 10' thing is. I tried to uninstall
the hardware and go for a new hardware check. Then XP detects the
conroller and asks me to install it. If I ask it to install it
automatically, it can't locate the drivers. But if I say I'll install
manually, it says,

"The file 'ialmnt5.sys' on Intel(R) xtreme Graphics Windows 2000/XP
Installation Disk is needed".

Then after I point to the file, it says:

The software you are installing for this hardware :  Intel(R)
82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller  has not passed windows logo
testing to verify its compatibility with Windows XP
Continuing your installation of this software may impair or destabilize
the correct operation of your system either immediately or n he future.
Micrisift strongly recommends that you stop this installation now and
contact the hardware vendor for software that has passed Windows Logo
Testing

Needless to say, I continued anyway. But then despite the installation,
it says the device can not start. I'm completely clueless what the
problem might be. Moreover, during the installation, the screen goes
blank 2 times.

Is this normal? Anywayz, I tried to explain my problem as extensively
as possibe. Hope you people can help me out of it.
