I assumed Omiya would be on the way out of Tokyo and then on to
Aizu-Wakamatsu later in the day and to spend the night.  Now we're
begeinning to think about inverting the entire routine, starting north
and working our way south.

The implication is that Aizu-Wakamatsu, off the Shinkansen line that
runs from Tokyo to Morioka is not related to Omiya, then?
