Yeah, I know what you mean. Many people don't even own a screwdriver
of any sort let alone know how to use it.
I once managed to recover a desktop's motherboard whose BIOS was
flashed with the wrong upgrade. I extracted the BIOS chip and "hot
plugged" the chip into another motherboard to flash the correct BIOS
firmware.
