The United States wrote their constitution after the war in 1945.
By 1950 we were already regretting what we did.
Gen. Douglas MacArthur wanted, among a whole bunch of other things, to see
a new Japanese Army fighting the commies  on the Korean Penninsula.
It was Japan herself who resisted getting involved having been just burned
in a long war.
