Better at what? The British are superior in the field of the eighteenth
century novel, but the Americans have outstripped them at Lawn Tennis.
Neither have produced landscape artists at the highest level. In the field
of popular music, the British seem to specialise in girl bands, while the
Americans have more solo artists. Exceptions abound.
