Well, let's see.

Mr Smith refuses to employ people he thinks are members of the race
"Green". There is, of course, no such race outside of his imagination.

Mr Smith refuses to allow people he thinks are members of the race "Green"
to stay in his hotel. There is, of course, no such race outside of his
imagination.

Mr Smith refuses to grant building permits to people he thinks are members
of the race "Green". There is, of course, no such race outside of his
imagination.

Do I support laws which forbid this sort of discrimination in employment,
this sort of discrimination in hotels, or this sort of discrimination in
building permits.

Absolutely.

Do I deny that there are any races at all?

Absolutely.

Mr. Smith's actions are forbidden by the law because he makes decisions
that are perceived BY HIM as race-based.

Lest anyone think that my analysis is questionable, there is at least one
case in the USA where a person was found liable for racial discrimination
even though he was mistaken as to the ancestry of the person he
discriminated against.

The Defendant discriminated against the Plaintiff on the mistaken opinion
that he was an African-American. He was not. Verdict for the Plaintiff,
anyway.
