it's mostly likely polystyrene (#6, "Clothes pegs, coat hangers, office
accessories, ..."), but the model plastic and ProWeld didn't hold well. I
could find nothing in or outside of the case indicating the type of plastic.

Time to try your suggestion, "5 minute epoxy." :-) And maybe visit a model
store.
