Having spent almost 15 years touring the world with Artist Lee Greenwood - Eric has witnessed patriotism at it's best. Eric honors our military, veterans, America and God. Horner will be honoring former POW PFC Jessica Lynch at her homecoming celebration with his single "She Is A Hero, And A Woman Too". Eric's music may be previewed and purchased at www.erichorner.com
Reborn Records' artist, Eric Horner, released a CD of original patriotic tunes entitled FREEDOM RINGS May 2003. The CD features 12 all-new anthems penned by Horner himself, including the song "She Is A Hero," originally written for a tribute to women held on May 21 in Washington D.C. Most recently, the song was used as a backdrop for a story on rescued POW Jessica Lynch by her local NBC television affiliate. Since then, "She Is A Hero" has become one of the most popular songs at country radio in Lynch's hometown in West Virginia. Horner is one of the first performers already invited to sing at Lynch's homecoming celebration. Horner has been overwhelmed by the response. Horner will also perform at the Wirt County Fair in Lynch's hometown August 7th where PFC Lynch will be in attendance.
"It will be an honor for me to meet her," says Horner from his Nashville home. "She's a tough young lady. We can only imagine what she went through, but she showed so much courage and determination. I see a lot of honors coming her way, and she's very deserving of every one of them."
FREEDOM RINGS will also feature a song called "Welcome Home" that Horner performs with country music superstar Lee Greenwood, known for his own self-penned patriotic hit "God Bless The U.S.A." "Welcome Home" was written as a tribute to Vietnam Veterans who were not given the kind of reception in America Horner feels was appropriate.
"Whatever your political slant," says Horner. "Those Vietnam vets gave their all for our country and they deserved better treatment. I wrote the song 'Welcome Home' to let them know they are appreciated."
"She Is A Hero" can be heard on Horner's website at www.erichorner.com
