The riding a motorcycle in cold weather bit. My daily riders in and
around Tokyo have all been EFI since the mid-Eighties but I have a
couple of Nortons that have required creative starting techniques from
time to time.

Good thing that I switched to EFI bikes as there are times when my work
involves several days of research at Bank of Japan and the guard lets me
park my BMW in the Board parking lot when they're not meeting. Parking
a motorcycle that smells like hot urine in a parking lot intended for
Toyota Centuries, Benzes, and Rollers just isn't quite on.
