The ultimate recommendation for a cheapskate is to make a coolerdor.
You just go to your local purveyor of camping/picnic accoutrements and
purchase a cooler of sufficient capacity to house your cigars. Add
cigars and sufficient humidifying devices and you're in business.
I use a 26 liter cooler, which I find will comfortably hold about 300
cigars (out of the boxes). Break up old boxes to obtain Spanish cedar
to line the cooler, if you like.

I got the Bally II humidor ($51 from Lynn Cigars) about two weeks ago
and shifted about 80 cigars into it. It is a very nice looking box and
is holding a steady 68% so far. For larger capacity humidors, you
might want to take a look at:

Tampa Humidor seems to be well spoken of on alt.smokers.cigars, but I
have no experience with them and can't vouch for them personally.

I have purchased accessories from Bargain Humidors. The service was a
bit slow, but they did come through. You might want to consider their
65% ConservaGel (http://tinyurl.com/bnwx8) if you decide to make a
coolerdor, since they tend to run a bit on the high side
humidity-wise. They ship via FedEx, which is pricey, so if you get a
humidor from them you might want to verify the shipping cost
beforehand.

I like some of the products on Cheap Humidors, but their reputation on
a.s.c. tends to be a bit spotty, with some people swearing by them and
some swearing at them.

The cedar-lined aluminum travel humidor I picked up from Lynn Cigars
at the same time I got the Bally II has already been put to use on the
trip to Bryan's for the recent gathering and is currently doing
service in my truck. It will easily hold 20-22 cigars and includes a
humidifier (but no hygrometer). I'm quite pleased with both it and the
Bally II so far.
