I have never met a barman outside a 30km ring of Newcastle rail station
who admits to having Newkie Broin in his bar voluntarily. I personally
have a two Newkie tolerance before I begin to feel and hear the fat
cells collecting just above my belt line and I leave the bar feeling as
though I've laid on half a stone about my waist and backside in a single
evening. However, seeing what happened to men who were foolish enough
to say aloud "Just the shandy for me, then" I continue to use British
beer as a major source of malted protein and solids while praying that
flatulence does not find me.
