I'm finding it useful (so far), but have decided against using it on
my phone. Since I'm online via laptop most of the day anyway it
probably makes little difference.

Not sure what those surveys are (any links?), but twitter is tricky to
use effectively, and yes almost all of the people I encounter on
twitter are "older than 30", which is what I'm looking for anyway - ie
people with some education & maturity (or at least umm, kind of) .

Mixi still dominates Japan's socialmedia. Nothing else seems to come
close. Facebook (as with Google in search in Japan) is still an also
ran.
