I know what Anno said, which makes me believe that who killed Kaji is
not really important.  He was removed for betraying one side or the
other.  His death was the important part to the story.

I wonder if Sakamoto will have Gendo's action appear later in the
story?  Sakamoto could use this later in the story to further drive
Misato to find the truth?  What if Asuka found out...?
