I don't know.  It's been a long time since I was young enough to find 
that to be adventure material or had the interest to try.  I can think 
of a lot of silly reasons and a few sinister ones.  Everything from 
return address collecting to getting someone else to do your research 
for you ... or maybe just Outland in a different wrapping (but not this 
time).

Basically, there was no self intro, no reason why you should want to 
help given, and the message was posted via Google Groups, which is a 
sort of reddish colored flag / waving dirty hanky in some parts of 
Usenet I frequent.  The messages are, in fact, coming from a posting 
host in Singapore, so part of the story checks out.

When in doubt, it may be better to leave posts like the above (assuming 
there is threading capability in your version of Outhouse Excuse) 
unanswered.  I doubt there is any connection between the recent rise in 
spam hitting the NG and this poster.
