Yes the RFC says: ".invalid" is intended for use in online construction of domain names that are sure to be invalid and which it is obvious at a glance are invalid. But the idea for misleading spam harvesters is to use something that is not immediately obvious, at least to the machine. I don't want the spammers to include "s/\.?invalid//i" into their scripts and get my email. I could put in a completely useless email address in the From: field, like "Pen3@Do.Not.Spam.Me.invalid".
