During the good old MS DOS days I used a shorthand software called "PRD
Plus" that could be used in a couple of word processing formats. For "as
soon as possible" you needed to type asap followed by a space or space
delimiter to expand it to the desired expression.
Unfortunately the software has never been upgraded to Windows versions we
use nowadays.
Can somebody recommend a good program for Windows XP?

There was another DOS goodie called "Finishline". Since I have to translate
very often in Excel or Powerpoint, some dedicated MS Word plug-ins won't
work since the Excel and Powerpoint aren't meant to be used for translation
platforms.
Finishline works as follows:
For example, you have crazy chemical expressions like
dimethylsulphoniopropionate that appear repeatedly in the text, you
type it once or twice, then the program takes over and extends the
expression after typing dimet to
dimethylsulphoniopropionate.
I am desperately looking for an equivalent program to be used in MS Word and
Windows 2000 and/or XP.
The programmer of this goodie had a 16 bit version and promised to make a 32
bit version, but that was 3 years ago...
Is there anything that come close to what I have described?

Thanks,
Sigi
