Still having trouble with the distinction between names having meaning and
the kanji that make up names having meaning, I see. Let's review. I said,
"The name HAS NO MEANING..." You said, "kanji that don't mean anything..."
See the difference? Amazing how much easier communication becomes when you
can actually keep words straight in your head long enough to move on to the
next sentence isn't it?

Indeed. I'm the one who chose that particular kanji, not because of its
meaning (since nobody knows the meaning anyway), but because 1) it is far
more unique than 美 and more appealing aesthetically than kanji like 未, or
実, and 2) my familiarity with it from my history studies (particularly 卑弥
呼 with which I have the strongest association, but also 弥生、阿弥陀, etc.)
It was only later, out of curiosity that I looked up the meaning in a kanwa
jiten. Barring some motivation to actually take the trouble and look it up,
people generally have no idea what it means. The only know names in which it
is used.
