ベティとチムは結婚直前に自動車事故で亡くなった。彼らが真珠の門（天国の門）に
到着すると、聖
ペトロが彼らを出迎えた。彼らは天国でまだ結婚で
きるかどうかを尋ねた。
『そうだね、それが可能かどうかを確かめてみよう。
ここに居てくれ給え，戻ってくるから』

６ケ月が過ぎ遂にペトロは帰って来た。
『貴方達は結婚できます』
『じゃあぁ、私達は，貴方の答えを待って一緒に充分な時間を過ごしたので、事態が
うまく行かなくなったら，離婚できる可能性があるかを知りたい』
それに対して、聖ペトロは答えました。
『ここでは司祭を見つけるのに６ケ月かかりました。
弁護士を見つけるのに、どれぐらいかかると思いますか？』
