『私，今日はとても気持ちいいわ。今朝は、私心の
無い寛大な行為で始めたの。浮浪者に２０ドル紙幣
をあげたの。』
『浮浪者に２０ドルも与えたの？　施すには大金じゃ
ない。それについて御主人はなんて言ったの？』
『ああ、彼はそれは適切な事だと思っていたわ
彼は“ありがとう”と言ったけど』

bumに浮浪者と怠け者の両義があるから、
bumとは彼女の夫のことかも・・・
