A distinct possibility. That still doesn't alter the fact that you were
attempting
to cast aspersions on someone's character by calling them a peace-lover. It
just baffles me that some people can take a word like peace, to which I can
think
of no negative connotation, and turn it into a bad word. The question of the
necessity of war in order to defend against an agressor doesn't even enter
into it.
When you call someone a "peacenik," you make it sound as if you think war
should be glorified, when it is actually something that should be avoided
whenever
possible.
