Before I saw tapes of the first "fight", I thought it was typical
Brazilian bitching about the refs. After I saw the tape, I have no
idea why the fight was called off at that point. It was for that reason
that the second fight was (technically) a draw. Royce insisted that
if neither contestant tapped, the fight would be a draw. So, I was
surprised to hear Yoshida admit he got killed.

That's actually more traditional for BJJ fighters; it's called "Valle
Tudo", and that's actually how they first got famous.
