We have a report from the fj.life.in-japan Dynamics Officer that chuckers has
exploded. Flight director confirms that:

>> 2) 50mm f/1.4D

This is just a normal lens that takes portraits with nice de-focused
backgrounds. The lens that has been on most 35mm cameras since they first came
out.

>> 3) 16mm fisheye

Warped curvy results. Jam it in your pet's face for cute, big-nosed pictures.
Think... THE DOG calendars.

>> 4) 14-24mm f/2.8 wide-angle

The widest angle lens you can get, for crazy-looking architecture.

>> 5) 300mm f/2.8 VR II telephoto

This lens is a foot long, a big telephoto for sports. This is the one that cost
an arm and a leg.

>> 6) GPS receiver (inputs lat/long into photo EXIF data)
>> 7) Accessories (strap, bag, filters, etc)
>> 8) three French hens
>> 9) two turtle doves
>> 10) one partridge in pear tree

Yeah, for snapshots a point-and-shoot that fits in your chest pocket is plenty
-- some of them take excellent photos (I recommend Canon). You most definitely
wouldn't want a D3s -- the body itself weighs over 2 pounds! Put that big
telephoto on it, and it weighs as much as (and is about the same size as) an
infant.
