Satellite 1110
Had my neighbour's Satellite 1110 for a couple of nights to remove spyware,
malware, viruses and other sundry rubbish from the hard drive. Defragged
hard drive and shut down. Popped it in the bag and took it next door. Took
it out of bag, plugged in and ....... not a lot.
The power light came on, the hard drive whirred up to speed as did the
cooling fan. The cooling fan died after a few seconds. The hard drive
continued to spin and the power light stayed on. Absolutely nothing else
happened. I took it all to bits and nothing was obviously amiss. It is
getting to the stage of checking ram as it does miss it and beep if it is
removed.
Any ideas anyone? Or is the motherboard just toast?
