It sounds like the computer got hung up on something. Usually holding the 
power button for 5 seconds or more will shut it down if normal procedures 
don't work.

Sounds like you are using packet writing software. This is notorious for not 
working between computers. Best advice is don't use it and disable any 
software that runs it in the background. Just assemble the stuff you want to 
burn and do it all at once using a normal method
