If the firewire card is working properly then it has to be a software
problem. I tried Ulead products and has some problems with it on both the
Sony Trv 25 and Trv 33. I use Pinnacle Studio 8 and it works outstanding on
capturing. I can preview and record and even edit using the software camera
controls and do not even have to touch the camera when recording to the hard
drive. You should eliminate the camera as a problem and concentrate on the
firewire card and software.
If Window recognizes the firewire card then it is most likely the flakey
Ulead software. Also, you did not state it but I am assuming you are using
XP. If not you will not have much luck bringing things together if you are
using 98 or ME or older hardware.
