So I went to my local Matsukiyo in search of a Polysporin-like
product (for the folks originally from non-North-American places,
Polysporin is an antibiotic ointment for use on cuts and the
like).

I butchered together enough Japanese to ask for what I wanted (I
think) and the pharmacist gave me a tube of something called
"Dolmycin" or thereabouts (DORUMAISHIN in katakana).  But after
getting it home, the medicinal ingredients seem to be different
than those of Polysporin.  

Has anyone used this product before?  Is it in fact a topical 
antibiotic ointment?
