I don't remember the gold bars etc. My main memory of the old fart was dozens of police waiting outside his home to place him under arrest, and Shin Kanemaru not coming out to be arrested because he was playing mahjong. There seemed to be a hell of a lot of deferential treatment by the police for someone so blatantly abusing public position and trust.
